Marie-Magdalena Kochová

Marie-Magdalena KOCHOVÁ (Czech Republic, 1994) is a director based in Prague. She graduated from New Media in Pilsen and Documentary Film at FAMU in Prague. In her work, Kochová negotiates personal and social themes through both documentary and fictional forms. For her short film Apparatgeist (2019) she received the Special Mention at Ji.hlava IDFF in 2019. Shells (2022), starring Pina Bausch’s long-time soloist Jan Minařík, was screened at several film festivals and won The Best International Student Film Award at Cinedans Film Festival Amsterdam 2023.
