Joren Vandenbroucke
Joren VANDENBROUCKE (1995, Belgium) graduated in animation from KASK in Ghent in 2020 with The West Flemish Pub Experience, the first virtual reality experience in West Flemish. Fascinated by the performative experience this VR installation entailed, he continued exploring the expressive possibilities of animation film and VR, recently debuting with the VR opera performance Three Geraniums on a Windowsill (2023) in collaboration with soprano Annelies Van Hijfte. The sequel to this experience, The Great Escape (of three geraniums), was supported by IFFR through CineMart 2024, and premiered in the Venice Film Festival 2025 in the Immersive competition.
