Hark Bohm

Hark Bohm (1939–2025, Germany) was an actor, screenwriter, filmmaker, and professor of cinema studies. Closely associated with New German Cinema, he collaborated extensively with Rainer Werner Fassbinder while also developing an independent directing career. Bohm’s films frequently address youth, social conflict and questions of belonging, combining realist observation with political and historical reflection. His work was presented at major international festivals, including multiple editions of the Berlin International Film Festival.
