Stijn Demeulenaere

Stijn Demeulenaere is a sound artist and field recordist from Belgium. He creates installations, soundscapes and performances, and does sound design for dance and theatre. Stijn is interested in the phenomenology of listening, the personal experience of sound, and he researches the relationship between identity, sound and listening. His work has been shown at Concertgebouw Bruges, NIMk, Kaaitheater and IKLECTIC among others. His work was nominated for the LOOP Discovery Award, the European Sound Art Award, and the Engine Room International Sound Art Award.
