Nicolas Piret
Nicolas PIRET is a Belgian artist and director who graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and ENSAV La Cambre. His various backgrounds in contemporary drawing, comics and animation led to his graduation film The Dog’s Drama (2022), selected at the Student Academy Awards. In 2024, he directed Silent Panorama, which had its world premiere at IFFR, followed by Karlovy Vary, Annecy and Toronto (TIFF). Piret concluded his “Natural Drama” film trilogy with Venezia Diorama, presented in world premiere at IFFR 2026. His films, animated alone and entirely by hand with meticulous attention to detail, have been recognised for their craft by the American Film Institute.
