Micha Wald

Micha WALD (Belgium) is a filmmaker and screenwriter. After studying editing at INSAS, he completed a master’s degree in screenwriting and film analysis at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He directed several short films, including Alice & Moi (2004), which received extensive international recognition, including the Petit Rail d’Or at the 45th Critics’ Week in Cannes, the Fernand Reynaud Prize and the Audience Award at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and the Best European Short Film Award. Wald later directed the feature films Voleurs de Chevaux (2007), selected for the 47th Critics’ Week in Cannes, and The Mad Adventures of Simon Konianski (2009). In 2020, he co-founded the production company Fox the Fox and currently teaches film at INSAS. A Survivor’s Tale (2026) is selected for IFFR 2026.
