Mbithi Masya

Mbithi MASYA (1985, Kenya) is an artist and filmmaker who is part of the experimental art collective Just A Band. He has directed advertisements for Equity Bank, Barclays and Coca Cola among other notable brands as well as music videos and films. Masya has also worked on video installations with Just A Band. His first feature film Kati Kati (2016) won several awards, including the Emerging Filmmaker Award at the Minneapolis St Paul International Film Festival in 2017 and the Best East African Film award at the Africa Movie Viewers Choice Awards. His most recent film Baba (2022) is selected for IFFR 2023, while he is in production for Just a Band.
