Mario Martone

Mario MARTONE (1959, Italy) started his career in the theatre, where he soon developed an interest in other art forms such as film and music. In 1979, with Angelo Curti, Pasquale Mari and Andrea Renzi, he founded the Falso Movimento theatre group, which is regarded as one of the most important avant-garde groups of the present Italian generation. His films have appeared at IFFR on multiple occasions, including The King of Laughter at IFFR 2022 and Nostalgia at IFFR 2023.
