Mária Carolina Ardila

Maria ARDILA is a writer, artist and filmmaker. She studied architecture and art, and moves between the fields of visual arts, architecture, writing and audiovisual work. She currently lives between Bogotá and Medellín and is a member of the COOCINE Film Cooperative. Ardila has participated in various group and solo exhibitions as well as film festivals featuring expanded cinema works. In addition, she has self-managed spaces for gathering and creation, including street performances, happenings in alternative venues and collaborative works. She ghostwrote one book and self-published another. Her creative practice mainly unfolds with and from her body, spaces, sounds, videos, found objects, words and circuits. Maria seeks to hybridise and enrich creative media through multidisciplinary approaches to reach new spaces and fictions that coexist with everyday life. Soñar una serpiente (2025) is her first short film as a director.
