Marco Manetti

Both directors and screenwriters Antonio and Marco MANETTI (1970, 1968, Italy) made their directorial debut in 1995 with the short film Consegna a Domicilio, a segment from the film DeGenerazione. In 1997, they directed their first feature, Torino Boys, produced by Marco and Piergiorgio Bellocchio. In 2000, their film Zora la Vampira was released, followed by Piano 17 (2005), Paura 3D (2012) and L’Arrivo di Wang (2011), selected for the Controcampo Italiano competitive section at the Venice Film Festival. In 2013, Song’e Napule was released, followed in 2017 by Ammore e Malavita, which was presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival and received several awards, including the David di Donatello for Best Film. In 2021, the Manetti Brothers released the first film of the Diabolik trilogy, bringing to the big screen the adaptation of the adventures of the character created by Angela and Luciana Giussani. They have also directed television series, including the cult series L’Ispettore Coliandro (2006) and work in web production, having directed over a hundred music videos for some of the most famous Italian musicians. IFFR celebrated the directors’ fruitful careers with a dedicated Focus Programme in its 2024 edition. In 2025, the Manetti Bros. will make a return to the festival with U.S. PALMESE.
