Marcelo Gomes
Marcelo GOMES’ films include: Portrait of a Certain Orient (2024), which premiered at the Big Screen Competition at IFFR. Paloma (2022), winner of the Best Film Prize at the Rio Film Festival; Waiting for Carnival (2019) and Joaquim (2017), both selected for the Berlin Film Festival competition. He co-directed The Man of the Crowd (2013) with Cao Guimarães. He also directed I Travel Because I Have to, I Come Back Because I Love You in collaboration with Karim Aïnouz, which was selected for the Orizzonti section at the 2009 Venice Film Festival. His first feature Cinema, Aspirins and Vultures (2005) was selected for the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
