Malaz Usta

Filmmaker, designer and visual artist Malaz USTA (Syria) studied Television and Cinema in Istanbul and then continued his filmmaking education in Amsterdam, which is where he is currently based. His works stem from a variety of media such as film, graphics, animation, editing and sound. Usta focusses on the several dimensions of displacement and ideas of belonging and identity, as well as the notion of home. He has received a considerable number of awards, namely Best National Short Documentary at Bosphorus International Film Festival and the Jury Award at Istanbul International Film Festival.
