Lorenzo Pullega

After graduating from high school, Lorenzo PULLEGA (Italy, 1991) pursued theatre studies in London and upon returning to Italy focused on cinema. Starting in 2015, he began a close collaboration with the Manetti Bros., initially as an assistant director on the television series Inspector Coliandro (2006) and later specialising as a location manager. He collaborated on several national and international productions, including the the Netflix series Master of None (2015), the film Après la Guerre (2017), My Brother Chases Dinosaurs (2019), the Diabolik trilogy (2021) and many others. In 2016, he directed his first short film, Calandrino, a free adaptation of a famous novella by Boccaccio set in the context of contemporary provincial Bologna. In 2019 his second short film, The Archdevils, a surreal comedy set in the underworld of billiard halls where genres blend into a crescendo blending comedy, police drama, noir and musical, was distributed by Premiere Film. The short film participated in various festivals and competitions, including I Love Gai in Venice. In 2021 he wrote his debut film, The Gold of the Rhine, the preparation of which began in 2022. Lorenzo lives in Bologna and continues to write and plan new films.
