Laís Santos Araújo

Laís SANTOS ARÁUJO (1993, Brazil) is a director and screenwriter from Alagoas, Brazil. Her work focuses on narratives with morally ambiguous characters, exploring femininity and violence. She’s currently a part of the Festival de Cannes’ 50th Residénce, in Paris. In 2025, she co-directed her first feature film, Marina, which received Hubert Bals Fund support and is currently in post-production with the support of Darkroom 2026. Her short film Infantaria (2024) won Best Film at the 73rd Berlinale, and her short Sometimes We’re The Same Height premièred at IFFR 2019.
