Ishaya Bako
Ishaya BAKO (1986, Nigeria) graduated from the London Film School. His award winning films move across fiction and documentary narratives. Bako’s works have been screened worldwide at festivals, Seattle, Durban, New York, Toronto, Lagos, and Clermont-Ferrand. His feature film debut Road to Yesterday (2015) won Best Film (West Africa) at Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards 2016. His second feature The Royal Hibiscus Hotel (2017) premiered at Toronto International Film Festival. I Do Not Come to You by Chance (2023), IFFR selection 2024, is based on Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani’s novel of the same name.
