Hana Zhang

Hana ZHANG (China) is a visual artist, filmmaker and writer based in Shanghai. Her multidisciplinary practice spans photography, self-publishing, installation, moving images and stop-motion animation. She is a member of the Aardman Academy in the UK and a recipient of the CFDG Young Director Support Programme (2022). Born in Shenyang, she holds a BA in English language and literature from Shanghai International Studies University (2011) and an MFA in Advanced Photographic Studies from Bard College (2020), followed by the Aardman Stop Motion Industry Training Programme (2023). Her short Dear Kankan (2025) is selected for IFFR 2026.
