Gala Hernández López
Gala HERNÁNDEZ LÓPEZ (1993, Spain) is a filmmaker, artist and researcher based between Paris and Berlin. Her work has screened at major international festivals and exhibitions, including Cannes, Berlinale, DOK Leipzig, Cinéma du Réel, IndieLisboa, Clermont-Ferrand, Punto de Vista and the Salon de Montrouge. She received the César Award for Best Documentary Short Film in 2024 for La mecánica de los fluidos (2022), which also won the Tiempo de Historia Award at Seminci. She studied cinematography at the University of Barcelona and completed graduate studies at Pompeu Fabra University, the IMACS programme and Paris 8, where she began her doctoral research in aesthetics and art technologies. Her new short like moths to light (2026), has its world premiere at IFFR 2026.
