Damir Čučić

Damir ČUČIĆ (1972, Slovenia) works a screenwriter, filmmaker and editor. He began to engage in audiovisual activities back in 1989 in the Enthusia Planck Film Author Group from Samobor. He has directed 39 shorts and four feature films. Since 1995, he has been working as an editor at Croatian Radiotelevision. He has edited more than 120 films and documentary TV shows. Damir occasionally directs and edits documentary radio dramas for Croatian Radio. He exhibits video works and photograms from films at individual and group exhibitions. His films have been shown at around 200 international film festivals and on European public television, and he is the winner of more than 30 film awards. Čučić’s feature fiction debut Letter to Dad won the Golden Arena at Pula Film Festival in 2012, where he also won the Best Editing and Best Debut Director awards. Mitch – Diary of a Schizophrenic Patient (2014) received the Jury’s Special Mention at FID Marseille International Documentary Film Festival. His feature film Slowly Nowhere was selected for IFFR 2023. Besides filmmaking, Damir has also taught over 40 film workshops on documentary and experimental film.
