Ariela Bergman

Ariela BERGMAN (Argentina) is a filmmaker and visual artist, graduated in Image and Sound Design from the University of Buenos Aires. She lives in the Netherlands and has taken part in the Documentary Film and Artists Programs at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.
Her practice blends melancholy with humour. She works with film, music, performance, sculpture and even edible art. A significant part of her work involves 3D animation. She focuses on frustrated desires for love, using fantasy and comedy alongside socio-political concerns. Her films and installations have been shown at venues such as The One Minutes (Netherlands), BAFICI (Argentina), FICVIÑA (Chile), FIDOCS (Chile), the Havana Film Festival (Cuba) and the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen (Germany), among others. Her project in post-production, Does the Sun Shine in Argentina? (2020–2025), was selected for the IDFA DocLab Forum 2021 and presented at Eye Research Lab (2021).
