Annette Apon

Annette APON (1949, Netherlands) attended the Dutch Film Academy. In 1968 she founded the film magazine Skrien with fellow students and in 1974 she was among the founders of the film collective Amsterdams Stadsjournaal. Her debut feature film, The Waves, was released in 1982 and was the first adaptation of a Virginia Woolf novel for the screen by a Dutch director. One year later, she won the Jury Prize at the Nederlands Film Festival for the film Giovanni. She has made more than 20 films, and has also used her talent to direct plays for the theatre.
