Eskimos have countless words for snow. The Dutch have 128 words for dikes: waker, sleeper, dreamer, ‘spekdam’, ‘nol’… Wakers and dreamers looks at the dikes and what they reveal of Holland. There are lots of dikes in Holland and they are everywhere. And people work on them.
