After losing his cat Nyago, young Naoki’s consciousness isn’t ready to let go of his beloved companion just yet. Diagnosed, institutionalised and heavily medicated, he enters a system that dulls his mind and threatens their precious bond. Atsushi Wada, a major figure in Japan’s indie animation scene, characteristically brings a gentle and delicate approach towards the dark and devastating thematics of grief and a failing mental health care system.
