The banks of the Maas are fertile ground for filmmakers. In RTM,
IFFR zooms in on established names and new faces from the 010
region, selected by three Rotterdam creatives, the RTM guest
curators: Hasret Emine, Suzanne Koopstra and Tim van Hooft
(Timaeus).
On Friday 30 January 2026, LantarenVenster will be
filled with the latest short and feature films, Rotterdam classics,
events, talks, audiovisual art, video clips and installations.

On the RTM Day, the LantarenVenster foyer is also filled with various activities to join in on. Throughout the day, you can explore the two installations made by Rotterdam makers (Ontsnappingskist and How Now House?) and a podcast booth with OPEN Rotterdam. From 18.00, a lineup of DJs including Leroy Verbeet, Princess K and Anais, will bring the right mood to the festival, followed by two performances by Cosmia Absurd, a drag performer who will carry the energy from the screening room to the foyer.
About the performances:
Arachnid Through the metaphor of a spider, Cosmia Absurd takes us into a poetic performance, blending strip tease and drag, shining light on the trans experience of discovering sexuality, otherness and dysphoria.
Clay Act Inspired by the performances of Oliver de Sagazan, Cosmia Absurd premieres with her newest performance Clay Act. A satirical old school drag ballad that quickly transforms into a monstrous journey of creativity, self-creation and shock value.
