Cult filmmaker Boris Ivković returns to IFFR to confound and delight audiences with an action thriller like few others. In Bore Lee: Deadly Sins!, Bore Lee must defend his Dalmation home from evil, in the most surprising ways…
Ten years ago, Croatian cult auteur Boris Ivković and his creation Bore Lee were introduced to IFFR audiences with the martial arts crime thriller comedy Big Rocks (2010). Audiences back then were giddily speechless when faced with this monument of pure proletarian surrealism. This time around, we’re going back a few years further in the legend’s making, to the beginnings of the Bore Lee cult, when a group of young filmmaker-rebels from the capital found out about this amateur genius in the countryside and decided to make a semi-professional film with him. The result, Bore Lee: U kandžama velegrada (2003), became the most successful locally-made home media release in Croatian history, which of course, called for a sequel. In Bore Lee: Deadly Sins!, Bore Lee’s hometown Sinj is under threat of terrorist attack. Can the Dalmatian Bruce Lee and his loyal friends oppose an army of narco gangsters, killer nuns, lesbian vampires and other super criminals led by mad scientist Luka Kovač? Get ready for the arguably most mind-boggling and joyful experience IFFR 2025 has on offer!
