Based on true events, Loophole explores the famous Kennedy rape trial of the early 1990s. Using the actual transcripts, the film re-enacts the court proceedings, while also imagining the love affair between the defence attorney and one of the jurors who later married. Loophole is an uncomfortable look at power and corruption furnished in the erotic thriller genre popular at the time.
