Megan (Keira Knightley) is approaching her thirties, but has so far successfully kept adulthood at bay. She’s still with her high-school boyfriend, still has a high-school kind of job, and still thinks teenage humour is wildly funny. It’s no big wonder, then, that when her boyfriend’s proposal sends her into a panic, she thinks that hanging out with high-schooler Annika (Chloe Grace Moretz) for a week could be the perfect solution.

Inertia is familiar territory for director Lynn Shelton, who previously directed Humpday, about two men who dare each other to make a gay porn film and don’t quite know how to back out, as well as Your Sister’s Sister and Touchy Feely.
