Once, this area (Death Valley, California) was below sea level. I have seen the strata and sea level marks, and I felt as though I were a buoy maintaining my balance upon viewing these virtual horizons. While I was videotaping these strata from a moving car, I had to keep myself and my video camera stable to maintain the horizontal balance. (SC)
