The films of Chen Chieh-jen tend to be made for installations. Yet they are still very cinematographic. Here this is also literally the case: the film was originally shot on 35mm film.
The maker derived the theme of the film from the lives and works of two of his friends. One of his friends worked in the empty floor of an almost empty office block. A building that imprisoned emptiness. The other friend is an anti-globalist activist who prints pamphlets by hand.
