Who will be the winner of New Arrivals?
New Arrivals, an initiative of NPS Korte Film Online in cooperation with the IFFR, has since January 2006 screened short films online. Films are sent in from all over the world. Every month, the editors make a preselection and a jury chooses the monthly winner. These seven monthly winners are screened in Rotterdam on Sunday afternoon, 27 January in the Lantaren/Venster Theatre. Also the short Agatha by Marta Jurkiewicz, the monthly winner from 2006 that was not screened last year for technical reasons will be shown.
The programme is very varied and includes a broad selection of short films: from animation and (experimental) fiction to documentary. The programme will be presented by Jan Doense, film maker and former director of the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival. A jury awards prize of a thousand euro to the overall winner. The audience chooses a winner online for the festival and this will also be announced during the festival.
After the film festival, another New Arrivals competition will start in February. The IFFR and the NPS place great value on a platform for short films, precisely throughout the whole year.
Anyone can send in their short film.
