Outwardly from Earth's Center

The film tells the story of an island in danger of disappearing. The inhabitants do all they can to avert this fate; we see them fighting the elements to secure their future. A story about local customs, beliefs, personal dramas and the fear of a society of being swallowed up by the forces of nature. Just as in her earlier work, Rosa Barba is less interested in telling a chronological story and more interested in investigating all the elements that play a role in the specific situation. It is up to the viewer to make a link between the various sections in order to create a coherent story.
