Who will be the winner of New Arrivals?
New Arrivals, an initiative by NPS TV (Short Film Online) in cooperation with the IFFR, has screened short films online since January 2006.
In all, 268 films were submitted from all over the world. Every month, the editors selected about 30 films and the jury chose monthly winners from the selection. These eight monthly winners will be screened in Rotterdam on Sunday afternoon 28 January in theatre Lantaren/Venster. The programme is very varied and comprises a whole range of short film: from animation, (experimental) fiction and documentary to typographical film. The presenter is Jan Doense, director of the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival. The audience votes in the afternoon and the final winner receives Euro 1,000.
After the film festival, another New Arrivals competition will start in February. The IFFR and NPS TV are convinced of the importance of a platform for short films, especially throughout the whole year. Anyone can submit a film.
There are eight films competing for the New Arrivals 2006 Audience Award.
