Curated by Eve Heller
Starting from Scratch commissioned film maker Eve Heller to hold a workshop at Rotterdam based alternative film lab WORM.filmwerkplaats. Consider this film programme an appetizer, exploring the possibilities of reworking film in the dark room. Cinema was born in the late 19th century with the invention of the movie camera and the chemistry of celluloid. Homage is paid to the unique expressive potential of these analogue tools with works ranging from photorealist to chemically treated films. ‘Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.’
