The writer André Gide was 64, world famous and a central figure in French literary life when the 36-year-old Dutch writer and communist Jef Last met him in 1934 in Paris. In the film, we follow the footsteps of André Gide and Jef Last on their journey in 1936. Unique archive material provides a picture of the years 1934-1938.
