Agnes (70) travels with the ashes of her beloved Robert to their holiday home on the Scottish island of Mull. On the way, two runaway Dutch children, the ten-year-old girl Chris and her younger brother Tommie, secretly get in her car. The children threaten to run away again if Agnes calls the police. In the remote cottage, beautifully situated on a bay with a view of the sea, the old woman and the children gradually grow closer together. Chris is self-assured and short-tempered, and does not only dominate her precocious brother, but also the elderly Agnes, who loses herself in memories of Robert. In the meantime, Agnes has to arm herself against the people who want to take the house from her. The surroundings play an important role in this story, based on the book by Renate Dorrestein about family, trust and secrets.
