After a lengthy absence, Nabil returns to Lebanon to honour the last wish of his dead father and to scatter his ashes in the sea. In the meantime, his family insists that certain rites and customs are followed, for which the ash is not enough; there has to be a body… A film about intimacy, about the individual versus death, but also about a society that regards mourning as an opportunity to tighten family bonds.
