During the festival, Rotterdam is not only dominated by film. In recent years, the city has become one of the most important audiovisual centres in the Netherlands. The Rotterdam Fund for Film and the Audiovisual Media and the Rotterdam Film Commission, long-term partners of the festival, play a central role in this.In the Rotterdam Perspective, four programme selections provide an anthology of the many short films, documentaries and music videos made in the port city in the last year. These films were made with the support of the Rotterdam Fund for the Film and Audiovisual Media and the Rotterdam Film Commission. This programme also comprises the world premières of five new short films made under the umbrella title ‘Kort Rotterdams’. Kort Rotterdams is an annual initiative of the Rotterdam Film Fund, in which talented young Rotterdam film makers and producers are given an opportunity to make a short film on a modest budget with an characteristic Rotterdam tint.
