A programme the same length as a feature film made up of no less than 15 short films by Kevin Jerome Everson. In a personal presentation, Everson will also show slides of his visual-art work. Everson has developed a special style of film making, characterised by a poetic pointedness. His films are seldom longer than a few minutes and succeed in making a poetic and essayist statement about present-day social and political reality within that brief period, whether they are about migration (Sportello Quattro), the first working day of a factory labourer (A Week in the Hole) or the everyday routine of a prison guard (Second Shift). They are films you could regard both as poems (some are also literally based on poems by Vincent Katz or Mark Halliday) and as ultra short documentaries. All the titles to be screened: Sportello Quattro (2002), Vanessa (2002), Un euro venti due (2002), Fumble (2002), Special Man (2002), 72 (2002), A Week in the Hole (2001), Pick Six (2001), The Daily Number (2001), Thermostat (2000), Second Shift (1999), Merger (1999), Imported (1999), Six Positions (1998), Eleven Eighty-Two (1997).
