The artist Alexandra Engelfriet works from nature, using the materials and the natural forces she comes across. For the past three years, she has been fascinated by the bed of the Waddenzee. In the six hours that the flats are exposed, she makes vast sculptures, which, when the tide turns, are then swallowed up by the sea.
