Another Time

More than in any other film, the picture here is the eye of the camera, and the eye of the camera is in fact the eye of the man who is therefore not onscreen in the film. The picture does not leave the room, the man behind the picture seems chained to his bed and at the mercy of specific impressions and the fragments of his memory. People pass his image elusively. They only fulfil his desires in his imagination.
