A meditative and lyrical film about the friends of the film maker; also a film about looking and how that looking shapes the relationship with the people we call friends. An atmospheric and – by Dwoskin standards, certainly in view of his work in recent years – a very optimistic, light-hearted and warm film. Some Friends (Apart) is very reminiscent of a home movie, but then a home movie made by a film maker armed with an impertinent and always-curious camera.
