Allegory of a birth, this film experimentally charts out a tangle of sensory images. First observing a city plunged into night, the filmmaker superimposes an ultrasound scan of a foetus, then follows a woman as she aimlessly wanders through empty landscapes. This promenade through phantasmagorical regions concludes rather like a home movie with the image of the filmmaker’s own daughter.
