A recording of the voices of New York City, a city in mourning after the events 11 September and the threat of a possible war. New Yorkers react with spontaneous support meetings and commemorations. The video follows as their consternation and impotence change to a mobilisation for peace and emerge as the first peace demonstrations. The peace demonstrators close ranks with the anti-globalists who are fighting for economic and social justice in a critical attitude towards US foreign policy. 9.11 also looks at the reactions by the media and the racial consequences for Arab Americans. The recordings were made between 11 and 26 September 2001.
