For his video diary, Chris Petit really wanted to go to a kind of ships' graveyard near Bombay in India. However that proved productionally impossible. But closer to his home in London, Petit also found some intriguing places along the Thames. Such as Tilbury, from whence prisoners were shipped to Australia and that is also close to Purfleet, where Count Dracula set foot on land.Chris Petit is a British film-, television- and documentary-maker and author of thrillers and novels. He made his début as feature director with the road-movie Radio On (1979).
