The film describes the first steps towards the sexual awakening of Victor (12) from New York's Lower East Side. On a hot summer day he meets Amanda in the swimming pool. She is an older girl from the area. Then he is confronted with budding intimacy, unasked but without any aversion. This experimental cinéma-vérité film was shot entirely on location with non-professional actors.
