Tales of Two Cities

Combined programme | IFFR 2001

This compilation of four Portuguese and two Dutch short film is is a cooperative venture between Rotterdam and Porto, both Cultural Capital of Europe in 2001. Initiator Rotterdam Films (Dirk Rijneke and Mildred van Leeuwaarden) – in cooperation with Dario D’Oliveira – commissioned eight film-makers to portray the two cities in their own way. Unfortunately two of the eight have not been completed in time for the festival, but the other six parts provide evidence of fantasy, originality and ‘heart for the city’.
