Iconoclastic movies are familiar to audiences of the contagious microcinemas, underground festivals and the multi-media club circuit. Here, in Rotterdam, they make an above-ground appearance to puzzle pundits and tease at the soft edges of the industry of images. As long as our cinematic stakes are not entrenched in a monotone avant garde or any variety of the mainstream, it’s a lot of fun. Wits outdistance conventions once again.
