Action film in English, set after the Third World War. Those in power organise a gladiator-like 'end game' that is broadcast on TV to keep the people in line. It comes down to the fact that murders are committed 'live' on TV.Hiding behind the new pseudonym Steve Benson (less well-known that Joe D'Amato), Aristide Massaccesi used limited resources and a good sense of rhythm to imitate Escape from New York and Mad Max. The film displays all the characteristics of the Cinecittà studio films from the sixties. It is a very original film, even if almost all the action scenes have been taken from other films. All the outdoor shots were made in Rome, but nothing reveals that we are not seeing very expensive sets from an American production. (SdC)
