Documentary focusing on the interpretation of the compositions of Gustav Mahler by the conductors Haitink, Chailly, Muti, Abbado and Rattle. Rehearsals by the orchestras, intercut with interviews with the conductors in which they explain their ideas about how they see the work of Mahler.
