Characteristic example of the freedom that Das kleine Fernsehspiel gives film-makers, because the film is three hours long and made up of the long plans séquence typical of Angelopoulos.Using an almost mythical event, Angelopoulos narrates in an form resembling a parable the painful post-war political history of his country. During a hunting trip, a group finds the corpse of a young man. The body is in perfect condition, but all the evidence points to him being a partisan, thousands of whom were killed during the civil war between 1946 and 1949.
