Different kinds of images are used to create a picture of a relationship that has ended. We see archive footage with youths diving, bodies and close ups. The pictures tell a story of nostalgia and desire, with as soundtrack the evergreen ‘Every time we say goodbye’. The title is taken from Virginia Woolf’s line of poetry ‘These meetings, these partings, finally destroy us’.
